Homes for Our Troops is a non-profit organization that assists returning Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan who have suffered severe, life altering injuries by building specially adapted homes across the country for these Veterans and their families. The homes are provided for free to the Veterans with the help of monetary donations and donations of home construction services and materials.
As part of their ongoing fund raising efforts, Homes for Our troops is holding its 2nd Annual Sporting Clays Tournament in Houston, Texas in January 2009. HFOT will be raffling a camouflage-color-scheme 4X4 utility vehicle (Club Car XRT1550) to help raise funds, and they needed help to ship it from here in Massachusetts to Texas. That’s where American Auto Transporters came into the picture. Nick Hunter, president of the company, received a request from HFOT and immediately volunteered to put the utility vehicle on one if its transport trucks and ship it for free to Houston to help support our troops and the efforts of Homes for Our Troops.
